| SnehaH - A Social Network for Indians |
|
snehaH.com - Where friends meet - Social Community Network from INDIA, a social networking utility portal was launched recently.
snehaH.com has been launched by Sravan, a web entrepreneur from Hyderabad. He dreams of making snehaH.com a platform for resource and knowledge sharing for people from different parts of the world. snehaH.com brings to the table a host of services such as forums, groups, blogs, polls, picture gallery and entertainment in the form of music, quizzes, games and online videos.
Sravan Kumar said, "snehaH.com seeks to provide a platform for people to share ideas and knowledge from their professional spheres to their variegated hobbi es. And as the name 'snehaH' implies friendship – (a sanskrit word), it also helps people make friends and build social networks. There are number of sites which are sprouting everyday providing people with social networking options but do not go beyond that idea. snehaH.com is a one stop solution which brings to the table the idea of networking and knowledge sharing".

| BeingGirl - P&Gs challenge to Sunsilk Gang of Girls |
|
Global FMCG giants, Proctor & Gamble [P&G] and Unilever are always at war - not just in products but also on the web.
Hindustan Lever Ltd, the Unilever subsidiary in India early this year launched SunSilkGangOfGirls.Com, a social networking space for the Indian girl. SunsilkGangOfGirls is a superhit space and HLL has proposed to take this model globally. P&G unable to bear the humiliation started a website for the teenage girl - BeingGirl. However, this is just an informative site and not a full blown Web 2.0 space like GangofGirls.
Hopefully, folks at P&G reading this critic will do something innovative and not just copy the GangOfGirls.

Social networking website Yaari.Com, has gone live with its mobile services. Co-founder Prerna Gupta said, "it keeps users connected to their network of friends from anywhere, which is especially relevant in India where people do not always have continuous Internet access"
The product release includes two features, YChat and YWords. YWords will let the members browse the network and interact with others by means of SMS. YChat lets the friends group to chat on the go. However, insiders tell me that most of the members on Yaari network are ABCDs (American Born Confused Desis) where SMS and other mobile applications find seldom usage.
Subscription to Yaari.Com is by invite only and you can get one here.
