The Return of Dot Com Days ?

One of India's worst website, Sulekha.Com has joined the bandwagon to throw money to gain customers. Sulekha is offering Rs 1 crore ($250,000) to bloggers blogging on their platform - in a way of speaking you get paid to create content on Sulekha. Not too long ago, ibibo had also offered Rs 1.5 crore in a blogger hunt challenge.

This reminds me of the Dot Com days when Pradeep Kar blew millions on ITSpace.Com and Indya.Com. ITSpace was shutdown and he sold himself out of Indya.Com. I still remember how carelessly they sent ITSpace.Com wrist watches to visitors of the website. Any business model luring visitors with money ain't gonna survive.

Coming back to Sulekha, it is one of the third rate websites, at least their advertising section. I had raised several complaints and issues and they never bothered to reply. However, VC investors are so blind that they are just carried away and don't mind committing their money to well established corporate criminals like Himachal Futuristic :-)
